Face Painting at an Easter Egg Hunt

for Relay For Life Event in Hoke County, NC

I was asked to come a Face Paint during a Relay for Life Easter Egg Hunt.  This was put together part of a Fundraiser to raise money for Relay For Life.

Parents brought their kids, ages 4-10.  Face Painting along with other activities were available for the kids to participate in.  And yes, the Big Easter Egg Hunt.  The kids were devided into three age groups; to make sure all the kids had a chance to get the Easter Eggs.  Before and after the hunt, me and my son were very busy painting faces.  My son uses stencils to Face Paint, and I Free Hand.  All the kids enjoyed getting their faces painted, we even painted a few adults.

Here are some of the Face Paintings I did during a local Food Distribution.  The kids were invited to come over while waiting with their parents to get a Free Face Painting.  It was cool this morning but the kids didn’t seem to mind and they have a good time getting Face Paintings.

I was asked to help Face Paint with three young ladies that were students at the local High School.  It was nice not being the only person painting, so we didn’t have to deal with long lines.  The kids actually had a chance to get several Face Paintings which they were glad to get them.

As you can tell, once someone had a pretty design, others wanted the same painting.  I did try to change the colors though, I rarely paint the exact same design, I like to change things around to make them more interesting.

Pembroke NC held what was called Peace in The Park during the Month of September each Thursday evening from 6 till 9 pm.  I was asked to come face paint during the Celebration.  There were guest Artist, Singing, Food, and other venders throughout the park with events that centered around the community coming together in support of peace in our community.  Many people came, especially the last evening and I was kept busy with kids wanting their faces, arms and a few legs getting paintings.  I had a great time even though you get tired with kids standing in line waiting, but all was good.  The kids really seemed to enjoy getting their faces painted and all were glad at the end result.

Butterfly Design

Mom was watching her daughter have her face painted and she decided she wanted to look like her daughter.  I was surprised how even grown ups like to have their face painted.

This was actually my first attempt and a full face design.  I usually do cheek art, but this child wanted a full Butterfly.  I couldn’t turn her down so this is my attempt.  So many kids were in line that I didn’t take the time to really make it nice.  But, the child was very happy with this design.

Wolf boy Design

This boy wanted to be a wolf.  I wasn’t exactly sure how to approach this design but here my attempt.  I was hoping to keep things as simple and possible because so many other kids were waiting but once I started I had a hard time stopping.  He was very happy so I guess that’s the most important thing when painting for kids.

This was my first attempt at painting this design, as you can see I have a lot more work to do. 

Practice, Practice, Practice…  However, the kids loved the work and had the biggest smiles

Flower Design

This is a flower that I painted on the leg of a girl.  She let me paint whatever I wanted so I decided this would work on the space i had to work with.  I realize I should have spent longer on detail, but you have to paint quickly with others in line waiting to get their paintings.  The girl was very happy with her design and liked showing it off to others.

A few Feather designs that were painted

It was a little funny, but kids will be kids…  Once the first feather was painted, a lot of other kids including some adults wanted a feather also.  It was a hot day and we were outside, actually under a shelter,  but it was still hot out.  My son and myself had competition with a swimming pool I’m afraid,  and what do think the kids chose?  Swimming won out over my face painting for a while, but sure enough after a little while when it was time for lunch, the kids started lining up to have designs painted on their face, arm and legs.

My son uses stencils and sponges when he creates his face and body designs.  The kids, adults can choose from several designs that we have to offer, glitter for all the girls (unless that wish not) is used to give the design that little sparkling that looks great.  Outlining is sometimes used depending on the design that has been chosen.

Face Painting For Kids

You remember how exciting it can be to get something painted on your face? 

Kids of all ages just love to get their face painted. 

No matter how fancy or how simple, getting a face painting is so cool…they love it!

Kids will stand in line waiting to be painted, just like if they were waiting for an amusement part ride.

Whether its a monster face-painting or a  princess face-painting they never seem to get enough.  Flower Designs face-painting , Heart Designs face-painting,  Name Designs, Creative Line Design.

Kids of all ages enjoy having their face painted, but not only their face but other places as well.

Some kids prefer to be painted on their arm, a temporary Tattoo, snakes coming from under their shirt sleeve,

maybe their favorite sports team.  During summer, shorts reveal legs that may be your canvas also.

No matter where kids get painted, they never seem to be unhappy, well perhaps when their parents don’t want them to have another or anymore…

Face Painting, Everyone Enjoys Them

Children of all ages, all shapes and sizes enjoy getting their faces painted.  Maybe it’s the attention they will get when everyone sees their design or maybe just be be different for a while does it.  Whatever the reason, most kids enjoy the experience of getting something painted on their face.

Not just their face, but almost everywhere else that you can see.

Here, I’m at a birthday party of a small child painting faces.  You may have different ages of children attending a party so you need to be prepared for different age kids.  Of coarse you’ll probably have parents of some kids there also.  Usually you will have the parents wanting something painted on them. This little boy wanted a snake,  I suggested that it would be really cool to have a snake appear to be coming from under his shirt.   This is one way of painting a snake that appears to be coming from under the sleeve of a kids shirt.  Make sure the clothes are pulled out of the way, you don’t want paint going on clothes, parents may not like that too well lol.

Snake Designs are really cool designs  for boys, and even some girls like it too…

Face Painting, Let’s Have Fun

I’m new to posting blogs, but I realize that there are many people are online doing just this.

Face painting for kids can be so enjoyable, even the big kids enjoy it too. 

It’s so cool when the kids you’ve just painted looks in the mirror to see your work, the smile they have says it all.

There is so much to learn and so much to do. 

I hope to improve my skills and keep updating and adding to this site.

I will give it my best shot…
